Mitigating Tall Building Legacy Risks

MotionFrame also offer the capability to bring our innovation to current and completed construction programmes that are already, or about to appear on your Legacy schedule.

Mitigation of the adverse effects of building movement on already completed dry lining walling systems within occupied properties remains a significant welfare, logistical and commercial challenge whilst having potentially adverse effects on your brand’s integrity. Minimising the developers and contractor’s exposure whilst maintaining tenant relations is a mammoth task that requires swift and systematic execution with minimal impact to the resident.

MotionFrame Retrofit is a derivative of the MotionFrame Stud System that will mitigate the risks, minimise disruption and the commercial impact of the rectification programme.

In line with the principals of the MotionFrame Stud System, Retrofit is also a one size fits all design and caters for both ‘I’ and ‘C’ profile Studs, and due to the localised remedial works, decanting of residents should be considered a last resort; irrespective of this decision a swift adaptation programme for an individual property can be executed.

The Retrofit programme starts with a review of the Contractor’s analysis of the issues identified, their locale, severity and existing construction type and ratings.

Once all of this information has been gathered, MotionFrame begin the process of assimilating the data and advising on the appropriate solution to mitigate the issues experienced. Once the retrofit system and programme has received client approvals, component sets are delivered to site for installation by the client’s preferred sub-contractor. In advance of installation, MotionFrame will deliver the requisite generic technical training guidelines to the installation team, and then a project specific onsite briefing at the start of the programme.

The MotionFrame Retrofit Stud System has been designed as a direct result of liaising with industry leading companies who had yet to find a workable solution to the inherent problems within tall buildings.

In line with the MotionFrame Stud System, Retrofit also offers performance and non-performance variants, mitigating the risks irrespective of stud type, size and performance specification.
